Electronic Giving at RCC
If you are visiting or just checking out Ripon Community Church, we want you to know that we aren’t inviting you to RCC to ask you for money! You are welcome to come and be a part of the church as long as you’d like, without making any commitment to give. That’s a step for you to decide between you and God. But for those who wish to contribute by giving financially, we have decided to make online “e-giving” available to you.
We know that many of you enjoy the convenience of online banking. Therefore, we have partnered with a company called eGive to make an online giving option available for anyone who is interested. eGive can be used to make regular tithe offerings and/or contributions. You can use this service to make a one-time gift, or you can even set up a weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or another giving schedule that makes automatic offerings from your account in the amount that you designate. We hope this will be a helpful tool for those of you who prefer the convenience and privacy of online banking transactions. Even more, however, we hope and pray that this will be a step of faith and growth for each person who chooses to sign up… because when you sign up to automatically make your offerings, you are deciding in advance to faithfully give to God. And God always blesses that kind of faith and obedience!
We have prepared a list of answers to some questions you may have about eGive. If you’d like additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact Pastor Jack Igel at firstname.lastname@example.org or (920) 748-2339. To sign up or make a gift to RCC on eGive‘s secure site, click the icon below.
Frequently-Asked Questions about eGive
How do I sign up for eGive?
If you’re interested in trying eGive, you can sign up:
- Online – Click on the icon above or here to launch eGive‘s secure online giving form for Ripon Community Church. Just follow the directions and fill in the appropriate blanks. If you have any questions as you complete the form, please give Pastor Jack a call at (920) 748-2339 or email him at email@example.com
How can funds be drawn directly from my account?
Funds can be withdrawn only with your authorization. No one can deduct money from your account electronically unless you specifically authorize the transaction(s). When you fill out the eGive form, you give your permission to deduct only the amount of money you designate on the day(s) you designate. You are free to cancel or make changes to this service at any time.
Is it safe to give online?
Yes. An electronic contribution is actually safer than writing a check because it can’t be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. If you choose to sign up for eGive, you only give information that is already printed on your check, and all transactions will be made on a secured website. National laws, rules, and guidelines govern all Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transactions. Over four billion EFT transactions are processed annually in the United States!
When would the automatic contribution be taken from my account?
If you decide to sign up for an automatic contribution, you will be able to specify a pre-established day when you want your contribution to be made out of your account. You can choose to give one-time, weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or as designated. If a date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will occur on the next business day.
Can I test eGive online or eGive text to give by giving one time, just to see how it works?
Yes! You can try eGive by making a one-time gift. Simply select “One-Time Gift” in the Giving Amount section of the sign-up form. If you decide at a later date that you’d like to set up automatic giving, you can go back into your eGiveaccount and change your settings.
If I don’t write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
You’ll choose the pre-established day when your contribution will be made, so you can deduct the amount from your checkbook record at that time. You will also receive an email reminder thanking you for your gift each time one is posted.
How can I keep a record of what I’ve contributed?
Your bank statement will include an itemized list of all automatic gifts given from your account. We will also continue to provide you with a regular giving statement from RCC for your tax records.
What if I change banks or accounts or want to change the amount of my contribution?
You can change your account settings at any time – 24 hour a day, 7 days a week – through the eGive website.
How do I participate in the weekly offering at church if my contribution is automatically deducted from my bank account?
If you wish, you can write “I’m giving online” on your giving envelope and place it in the offering basket, but this is not necessary. God knows what you’re giving to Him, whether it’s through the Sunday offering or the website – and that’s what matters!
Is there any charge to me from my bank to give online?
No! Electronic fund transfers carry no bank fees and this service is free.
Who do I talk to if I have more questions?
You can email Pastor Jack Igel at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him at (920) 748-2339.
Thank you for giving to Jesus and supporting the ministry of RCC through your financial gifts! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
